MOTHER’S LAP AND HER PERFUME

I have roamed and seen the entire world,

Realized and encountered good people as well as evil,

There are many motives to laugh as well as to cry,

World at times looks ecstatic and sometimes very ugly place,

There are times when the heart gets so irritated and disturbed,

The entire world seems a big, dark pit,

The irritated heart finds no place to find solace,

After a while, every contentment and despondency nullify,

And the heart wants something to rest and rejuvenate,

That one place where the entire universe condenses,

And the pleasure of heaven glows and spreads,

The sweet smell of her bosom is better than the most expensive perfume,

It blooms the most aching nerve and brightens the life,

And that place on earth can be nowhere but in mum’s lap,

Where the cool breeze of paradise blows,

And with the touch of her gentle hands,

Peaceful sleep and sweet dreams come flowing from unknown lands.
